IN CONCLUSION..
Whether to expose, or let technology and digital media impact the development of children, is a very debated issue, however, it is happening whether we want it to or not. The concerns that many having in exposing these children to this type of environment are well founded, due to that fact that using the wrong types of technology and non-interactive media, can lead to serious issues such as childhood obesity, and the lack of face-to-face social connection. We as educators and parents, however, can become fully aware and educated in presenting these students with technology and media which in fact can be very beneficial to a child and their development. We must not let this new model totally evaporate the idea of the romantic child, but rather take that innocence, and blank slate, and fill it with interactive, educational technology that will expand the child's cognitive abilities, creativity, and social interactions with others.
